About meGreetings, I am Carolyn Howell. I grew up surrounded by the beautiful nature and sky of South Africa, and then lived in London from 1983-2003. I practised as a Transpersonal Counsellor/ Psychotherapist (UKCP Reg.) and Tai chi teacher (TCUGB Reg. Inst.) for 14 years. In 1999 I completed an MA research study on the psychological components accompanying HIV and on the therapeutic effect of Tai chi in the potential healing process of HIV. In recent years I have been working to make vision quest and rites of passage in the wilderness available to young people, and have trained as a guide with the School of Lost Borders in California. I have also trained in leadership with Landmark Education for several years. I draw my inspiration from the study and practice of various disciplines of spiritual teaching, healing and meditation – Taoism, Buddhism, Sufism, the teachings of the Essenes, of Jesus, and Earth teachings. My main interests are how to live creatively and powerfully in the NOW however it is; to be fully open to mystery, beauty and possibility around us; and to be able to resource the healing power of humour.
